Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park

Wake up early to a served breakfast and then go to the ranger station for briefing about the Bwindi gorilla tracking experience. Remember to pack your lunch, bring comfortable walking shoes, and be physically fit if you intend to be part of this memorable adventure.

Set off before the intense sun heat around mid morning behind a trained ranger and tracker. Sometime the gorilla tracking takes hours and hours (2-7 hours) on fruitless trekking but the rewards sooner or later delight your sight to a silver back family, tucked away within the forest canopy only reached if you cut through the intertwined vines. It is then one hour of unbeatable anxiety as you watch the habituated giant coy creatures feed, play with each other and greet their guests.

Return to the lodge for a light evening snack, after which travel to Lake Bunyonyi where you’ll find dinner and overnight accommodations from Kyahugye Island Resort or Budget Bushara Island and Arcadia Cottages.

Day 4: Transfer to Kampala

Take an early morning boat or canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, visiting several bird colonies in the fringing swamps, many of which fly on hearing the boat engine. The birds on the lake are something you’ll not forget.

Board the tour van after the breakfast and travel to Kampala for your afternoon and late departures at Entebbe airport.
