5 Day Mountain Gorilla safari at the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest safari park and Queen Elizabeth Tree climbing lion park in Africa Uganda with  Insight Safari Holidays Ltd.

Day One: Travel to Bwindi Gorilla park

We begin our 5 day Africa gorilla Safari by traveling from Kampala to Bwindi where we will be tracking the gorillas and seeing wildlife at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Enjoy a thrilling moment with the mountain gorillas in BwindiYou will have a pleasant drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest and our comfortable 4-wheel safari vehicle, with your knowledgeable and   experienced English speaking safari driver guide. He will make sure that you enjoy the drive through the Ugandan countryside with a stopover for lunch  in Mbarara town.  There is much to see before you arrive at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

We reach our gorilla tracking destination late afternoon, relax then a delicious African   dinner at your choice of accommodation including  Luxury Gorilla Resort, Luxury Gorilla Safari lodge, Silverback lodge, Buhomma Lodge, budget Buhoma Community Bandas, Nshongi Gorilla Resort, Wagtail safari camp, Trekkers Tavern,  Bwindi View Bandas and others.

Some of the accommodations in Bwindi  offer great views of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and  are  located right in the midst of the forest, some times Gorillas visit the  lodges.  Have a good night in your African Rainforest with its sights and sounds.

Day Two: Gorilla tracking day

This will be your big day out of the 5 days of Uganda gorilla safari to track into Africa’s Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi. Before you enter  the  into the forest expect to have an orientation and then off with your group and the park ranger , not exceeding 8 people tracking gorillas in one group. The   trek may take 2 to 8 hours but the actual time spent with the gorillas is strictly 1 hour.   It is a strenuous hike a light backpack, drinking water, boots and rain jacket should be carried along with you.  You will need to take packed lunch. Porter assistance is available at  a very reasonable fee.  Some are glad that they avail themselves for it.

When you meet the Mountain Gorillas in their wilderness, tracking experience is simply marvelous and awesome, these huge gentle primates ever so near you.  Most tourists who visit these mountain gorillas are deeply moved within by this experience of a lifetime.

Optional:You may go for a village walk in the evening. While on the walk, you will see and explore traditional ways, from brewing local beer to remedies made from the forest and Bananas.  There will be some traditional dancing and entertainment.How about participate in the dancing!  Observe the ways of the local people and how they survive,it is certainly worth your while to take the community tour. Return to your accommodation in the evening for diner and overnight at

Day Three:    Bwindi / Queen Elizabeth safari

It is an early breakfast, check out from your accommodation with the memories of the gorilla tracking experience and  you are off for your See lots of wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Parkwildlife safari to Queen Elizabeth. The journey  to Queen Elizabeth will take you through the tree climbing lion sector of Ishasha  then to the  lodging  of your choice in Ishasha or around the Mweya part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.  If you choose to stay in Ishasha you will either sleep  at Ishasha  Ntungwe River Lodge or Budget savana Resort.

Other options of lodges not in Ishasha include Luxury  Mweya safari Lodge overlooking the Kazinga channel with a swimming pool,  Ihamba safari lodge, Kyambura Game lodge, Simba safari , Mweya Hostel  and Queen Elizabeth safari camp. After check-in it is lunch and some rest and relaxation at your safari lodge.

Queen Elizabeth National Park consists of  the African savannah, Kazinga Channel, Tree climbing lions  in the Ishasha plains, Kyambura Gorge known for Chimpanzee tracking,  crater lakes, Lake George and Lake Edward, Maramagambo  and of course lots of wildlife  including  lions, Leopards,  Elephants, Hyenas, Bush pigs, Monkeys, Warthogs, antelopes of different kids, Hippopotamus, Crocodiles, over 600 birds species most of them nesting on the Kazinga channel , bat caves, primates , butterflies. From a  distance is the  scenic view of  the tallest mountain range in Africa, the Rwenzori with its snow capped peaks and glaciers, it is simply a stunning  view.

After your journey from Bwindi, you deserve a quiet evening at your accommodation with dinner and overnight surrounded by wildlife in the heart of Africa- Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Day Four:  Wildlife safari at Queen Elizabeth

Before your morning game drive, you will have breakfast  at  your lodge in Queen Elizabeth Park. While on the game drive, you will watch wildlife on their way back from the night hunt and these will include lumbering elephants, lions, running warthogs with tails raised up. Remember Queen Elizabeth offers stunning views of the Rwenzori Mountains.

Then it is time to return to your accommodation for relaxation and lunch.  Do not forget to change your batteries in the Cameras since you will be going for a boat trip which is the park’s highlight for every visitor not to miss out. The Kazinga Channel is shared by lake Edward and Lake Gorge, running 40 kilometers between the two lakes. This afternoon you are on a boat ride (boat cruise) the channel is a home to many birds Kibale Forest is a home to many chimpanzeesseen in the middle of the boat cruise, school of Hippopotamus, buffaloes and warthogs.  Nothing like the swarms of pelicans on the shore, birds flying all over the channel and the boat takes you slowly as you take your Uganda Wildlife pictures along the shores.  A rewarding game viewing in the  afternoon to say the least. Return to your accommodation facility for dinner and a quiet evening at your lodge in the midst of the African savannah.

 Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking / Onward journey to Kampala

Breakfast at your lodge then head to Kyambura Gorge for your exciting chimpanzee tracking safari before you travel back to Kampala.   Kyambura Gorge alone is worth a visit without tracking the chimps, add on top of that spending an hour with chimpanzees that are found there. Back to your lodge for lunch before your journey to Kampala.  You will also stop at the equator for photos and gift / craft shopping. Reaching Kampala in the evening hours. End of 5 days gorilla wildlife and chimpanzee tracking safari.
